EnCase… where it all started..

History
In 1999, EnCase was the first serious tool for computer investigation. Originating from the 'Expert Witness' start-up, a small club from Long Beach started the company Guidance Software.

Current situation
Today, more than 20 years later, Guidance Software has been acquired by the much larger OpenText. Besides the forensic version of EnCase, there is now also an Enterprise version for organisations that want to secure their data.

Of course, there are now other providers of Digital Forensic software, but for many investigators, EnCase still forms the foundation for a thorough digital investigation. By creating their own scripts, for example, investigators can search through data efficiently and bookmark relevant results. In addition, the so-called undeleting of deleted data is also very popular.

Gold Partner
The undiminished popularity of EnCase is evident from the fact that DataExpert has been appointed 'Gold Partner' as of 1 November 2021. This is mainly thanks to all our loyal customers who have been using the 'Gold Standard' for Digital Forensics for years. Click here for more information about the ‘Gold Partner’ status.
