Mercure version 5 now available!
In January 2023, the supplier of Mercure released a new version of Mercure. Mercure is a widely used solution worldwide for telecom investigations and forensic analysis. In this article, we discuss how the new version of Mercure V5 can help you with your investigations.
Modernised interface
What is immediately noticeable when opening the new version of Mercure is that the appearance of the interface has changed. The look & feel is still what you are used to from Mercure V4, but the icons have been modernised.
In addition, in Mercure V5, it is now possible to change the light theme to a dark theme, the same way you might be used to from the office software. You can customise the theme via File/Preferences/Display/Theme. You can customise the colour theme on a per-user basis.
Financial module
In Mercure V5, you can now also use the new financial analysis module. This module makes it possible to analyse financial transaction data and combine these analyses with other data sources that could already be imported (mast data, ANPR data, etc.). You have the option of importing the following financial data into Mercure:
- Bank transactions
- Credit card transactions
- Foreign transactions
- General ledger accounting
To analyse the above-mentioned data in the best possible way, Mercure V5 has been enriched with new analysis functionalities that allow you to analyse this type of data.
These new functionalities are:
- Account holder balance sheet
- Sum by type of transaction
- Sum by contra account
- Graphical representation using bar charts
A number of analysis functionalities that you can use to analyse telecom data, events, identities or number plate data, for example, can also be applied to financial transaction data:
- Correlation based on common account numbers
- Search by value or calendar period
- Timeline
- Graphical display
- Graph
- Plotting geolocations on a map/tracing meeting points
Map view
The functionalities regarding map views have also been expanded in Mercure V5. Thus, you now have the ability to configure multiple map servers under preferences. This can be a great solution when you use different map servers and the maps have different view types (standard view or satellite). Or, for instance, if you sometimes work with offline maps and with Open Street Map at other times.
When items are shown on the map, you can choose what view the items are shown in. You can change the display via the maps icon at the top left of the menu bar.
Through this menu, you also have the option to change the contrast of the map and the size of the icons. The size of the icons will be changed throughout the map.
