New version Oxygen Forensic® Detective V15.0

Oxygen has recently published a major release of Oxygen Forensic® Detective.

Oxygen Forensics® Detective is specialised forensic software for reading mobile devices (such as phones and tablets) both in the cloud and on the device itself.

With the new version of this advanced software, you can:

  • Bypass screen locks on Xiaomi devices.
  • Perform Android Keystore extractions on Qualcomm-based Huawei devices.
  • Extract data present in Kit Messenger using the Android Agent.
  • Parse Semantic Location History from Google Takeout.
  • Deploy new tools for analysing Call Data Records (CDR).
  • Use the improved face categorisation.

In this article, we detail some of the highlights of the release.

Bypass lock screens on Xiaomi devices
Support for Xiaomi devices in Oxygen Forensic® Detective has been further expanded by the support of two new MTK chipsets. These are the Helio G88 and the Helio G90T. The extension allows you to extract hardware keys from Xiaomi Redmi 10 Prime 2022, Xiaomi Redmi 10 Global, Xiaomi Redmi 10 Prime and Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro, among others. You can then use these to access the data present on the devices.

Kit Messenger extractions via Android Agent
Using Forensic Detective, you can now also collect Kik Messenger contacts, private conversations and group chats from unlocked Android devices, using the Android Agent. You can install this Android Agent on a device via USB, Wi-Fi or OTG device. When you have finished collecting the data, you can import the Android Agent extraction into Oxygen Forensic® Detective to review and analyse the data.

Comparing call and message logs with CDR
Within Oxygen Forensic® Detective, a new analysis tool is now available that allows comparing call and message logs extracted from a device with Call Data Records (CDR) provided by mobile service providers. A tool that is of particular value when phone calls or messages have been manually deleted from a device. By comparing the data, you can identify missing data and paint a more complete picture.
