WriteProtect™

One of the first things to do in a digital forensics investigation is securing data. If you want to do that properly, you use a disk duplicator OR a write-blocker.

As an investigator, this offers you the guarantee that no changes are made to the original. In addition, it makes sense to be able to view the information present on the data carriers to then copy the data in a forensically correct manner.

Logicube's WriteProtect™ products offer that guarantee. There are three variants: PORTABLE, DESKTOP, and BAY.

WriteProtect™ PORTABLE
The WriteProtect™ PORTABLE write-blocker provides secure, read-only, write-blocked access to PCIe, SATA and USB 3.0 hard drives. Thanks to the SuperSpeed USB 3.0 host connection, data transfer is very fast. It also allows large-capacity hard drives to be copied within a relatively short time. The WriteProtect™ PORTABLE supports three interfaces, is compact and easy to transport. This makes it an ideal write-blocker to use in the lab, but certainly also in the field.

WriteProtect™ DESKTOP
The WriteProtect™ DESKTOP write-blocker provides secure, read-only, write-blocked access to SAS, SATA, USB 3.0, FireWire, IDE (via optional adapter) and PCle M.2 hard drives. As with the PORTABLE variant, the hardware is supported by a high-speed SuperSpeed USB 3.0 host connection. The WriteProtect™ DESKTOP is the only write-blocker that supports 6 different transfer protocols.

WriteProtect™ BAY
Like The WriteProtect™ DESKTOP, the WriteProtect™ BAY write-blocker provides access to SAS, SATA, USB 3.0, FireWire, IDE and PCle M.2 hard drives. What sets the BAY variant apart from the DESKTOP version is its size. Its compact design allows it to fit into a 3.5-inch bay of a forensic workstation.
