PublicSonar
PublicSonar was created in 2012 from two Dutch research institutes, TNO and TU Delft. Research showed that during disasters and incidents, much valuable real-time information is available on social media. However, there was a lack of tooling to quickly form a complete situational picture from the endless number of messages.
PublicSonar decided to address this problem and assembled a team consisting of professional experts in computer and data science and security to develop an appropriate tool. Its mission: to contribute to the security and well-being of people through accessible and innovative technology. The real-time solution PublicSonar now supports organisations around the world, from both the public and private sectors, that are active in the risk and security domain. It provides these organisations with the ability to instantly and flexibly access insights from social media and other sources. This enables customers to quickly detect risks, track incidents and manage crises.
